We took the metro to Wallsend where the Segedunum Roman Fort is situated to start the walk.
Today's walk was mostly through Newcastle alongside the River Tyne. We returned to the beach:
We passed the bridges of Newcastle.
We stopped for coffee in a place near to an old merchant's house that also sold vinyl records.
The walk ended just inside Tyneside Country Park in Newburn and we stayed in Keelman's Lodge (Salmon House). The pub connected with the lodge was a micro-brewery and we ate our evening meal there. The accommodation, breakfast and staff were all good. Although the older waitress had a lot of trouble with the coffee machine!
